realme resets differ by model β the Buds Air family resets inside the case, the T-series resets outside it. Official steps and hold times for each.
Before you start
1Find your exact model name first
This matters more with realme than with most brands, because the procedure genuinely differs between families that look almost identical. Check the box, the charging case underside, or your phone Bluetooth list. "Buds Air3" and "Buds Air 3 Neo" are not the same procedure, and neither are "Buds T300" and "Buds Q2".
2Charge the case and both buds before you start
A bud that runs flat halfway through a ten-second hold will look like a failed reset. Put both buds in the case, charge for at least thirty minutes, and only then begin.
3Forget the old pairing on every device
Not just your phone. Any laptop, tablet, TV or second phone that has ever connected to these buds can grab one of them the moment it powers back on, which looks exactly like a failed reset. Remove or forget the earbuds on all of them before continuing.
4Reset β realme Buds Air family (done INSIDE the case)
Applies to Buds Air, Air Neo, Air Pro, Air2, Air2 Neo, Air3, Air 3s, Air5, Air5 Pro, Air6, Air6 Pro, Air7 and Air7 Pro. Put both earphones in the charging case, open the lid and leave it open, then press and hold the multi-function button on the case for about 10 seconds until the LED starts blinking. That blink is the confirmation that the pairing record has been cleared.
5Reset β realme Buds T-series, N1 and Air 3 Neo (done OUTSIDE the case)
Applies to Buds Air 3 Neo, TechLife Buds T100, T110, Buds T300, T310, Buds T01, Buds N1, and Buds T200, T200x and T200 Lite. This one is the opposite of the Buds Air procedure and it is where most people go wrong: open the lid and TAKE BOTH EARPHONES OUT of the case, then press and hold the touch area on both buds at the same time for more than 10 seconds, until your phone Bluetooth list shows the earbud name again.
6Reset β realme Buds Q family (both touch areas, inside the case)
Applies to Buds Q, Buds Q2, Buds Q2 Neo and Buds Q2s. Put both earphones in the charging case, open the lid, and press and hold the touch area on both earphones simultaneously for 10 seconds, until your phone Bluetooth list picks the earbuds up again.
7Reset β realme neckbands (Buds Wireless)
Pull the two magnetic earbuds apart first, in every case. Buds Wireless 2: hold volume + and volume β together for 5 seconds. Buds Wireless 3: tap the ANC button five times, then press and hold it for 10 seconds. Buds Wireless 3 Neo: tap the multi-function button five times, then hold for 10 seconds. Buds Wireless 5 ANC: tap the multi-function button three times, then hold for 10 seconds. Buds Wireless 5 Lite: tap three times, then hold for only 3 seconds. Any other realme neckband: hold the multi-function button about 10 seconds until the LED flashes.
8Let the two buds find each other, then pair fresh
After the reset, take both buds out together and leave them side by side for a few seconds so they re-establish their link to each other before either one talks to your phone. Only then open Bluetooth on your phone and pair as if they were new. Doing it in the other order is the single most common reason only one side connects.

I only replaced ONE earbud. Do I still do the full reset?
Yes, and you need both buds in hand to do it. Every realme procedure above acts on the pair, because the two buds have to clear their old link and rebuild it with each other. Resetting only the new bud leaves the old one still bonded to a partner that no longer exists.
Why do the Buds Air and Buds T-series reset differently?
The Buds Air family uses a physical multi-function button on the charging case, so the buds have to be inside it. The T-series has no such button and uses the touch surfaces on the earbuds themselves, which the case would block. Following the wrong one of the two does nothing at all, which is easily mistaken for a dead earbud.
Where do these hold times come from?
realme India official support, from their document "How to reset the realme earphones" at realme.com/in/support/kw/doc/2070783, last updated 26 September 2025. We publish manufacturer timings only where a first-party source states them β for brands where no such source exists, our guides describe the reset without inventing a second count.
I held the button and nothing happened. Is the earbud dead?
Not necessarily. Charge everything for thirty minutes and try again, make sure you are using the procedure for your exact model, and confirm you have forgotten the buds on every device. If a bud still shows no LED at all after a full charge and a correct reset, that is the point at which it is genuinely dead and a single replacement is the fix.
Does a wired realme earphone need resetting?
No. Wired models such as the realme Buds Classic have no pairing to clear, so there is nothing to reset.
Will a replacement realme bud definitely pair with my existing one?
Usually, once both are reset together as above. It is not guaranteed: pairing also depends on the firmware revision and sub-variant of the bud you already own, which we cannot see from here. Our return policy covers a replacement that will not pair.
