Noise hold times differ per model, and Connect, Combat and Verve reset in the case while the rest reset outside it. Official figures for each.
Before you start
1Read the exact model name off the case
Noise reuses names across generations and the procedures change between them. Connect and Connect 2 are not the same. Verve and Verve 2 are not the same. VS102 and VS102 Elite are not the same. Get the full name including any Elite, Pro or number suffix before going further.
2Charge fully, then remove the buds from every paired device
Noise repeats this instruction in almost every one of its own manuals, which is a good sign it is the step people skip. Delete or forget the earbuds in the Bluetooth settings of every phone, laptop and tablet that has ever connected to them, not just the one in your hand.
3Most Noise models β hold both buds, OUT of the case
Take both earbuds out of the charging case and press and hold the touch surface on both at the same time. The hold time is model-specific: VS104 is 5 seconds. Buds Connect 3, Nero, Connect 2 and Verve 2 are 7 seconds. Buds Trance is about 7 seconds. VS102 is 8 seconds. Buds N1, N1 Pro, Trance 2, VS601 and VS102 Elite are 10 seconds. Release when the red and white LEDs blink or the voice prompt confirms.
4The exceptions β models that reset INSIDE the case
Three models reverse the rule and catch people out. Buds Connect: put the earbuds into the case, then touch and hold both for 6 seconds until the voice prompt says factory reset successful. Buds Combat: buds in the case, press the RESET button on the case for 6 seconds. Buds Verve, the original: buds in the case, press the one-key RESET button on the case for 10 seconds.
5Let both buds power back up together, then pair fresh
Several Noise models power off at the end of a reset. Put both back in the case, take them out together, and give them a moment to link to each other before opening Bluetooth on your phone. Pair only after both are awake.

Where do these hold times come from?
Noise official user manuals published on gonoise.com and their own support articles at support.gonoise.com, read per model. We publish a manufacturer number only where the manufacturer states it. Noise publishes no manual at all for Buds Connect, Connect 2, Connect 3, Nero, Combat or the original Verve, so for those the figures above come from Noise support articles rather than a manual.
Noise gives two different times for Buds Trance. Which is right?
The Buds Trance manual says about 7 seconds; a Noise support article says 5. The support article body is word-for-word identical to the VS104 article, and 5 seconds is VS104 correct figure, so it looks like the wrong text was pasted onto the Trance page. Hold until the red and white LEDs blink and the exact number stops mattering.
My model is not listed. What do I do?
Take both buds out of the case and hold the touch surfaces together until the LEDs blink or you hear a prompt, usually somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds. Do not keep holding well past a confirmation. If nothing happens at all after a full charge, check gonoise.com support for your exact model.
I only replaced one bud. Does this still apply?
Yes, and you need both buds to do it. Every Noise procedure acts on the pair, because the two buds have to drop their old link and rebuild it with each other. Resetting only the new bud leaves the old one bonded to a partner that no longer exists.
