A worn USB-C or micro-USB port is a ₹300 part, not a new phone. How to diagnose a dead port and replace the charging board flex safely.
Before you start
1Confirm the port is actually the fault
Test multiple cables/chargers, clean lint out of the port, and try wireless charging if supported. If the phone charges wirelessly but not by cable, the port/flex is confirmed as the culprit.
2Open the phone and disconnect the battery
Remove the back panel (heat + pry), unscrew any midframe/shield plates, and unplug the battery ribbon FIRST. Keep screws organised by location — lengths differ and a long screw in a short hole cracks boards.
3Free the charging board
The port lives on a small sub-board (or flex strip) at the bottom: undo its screws, release the main ribbon connector(s) to the motherboard, and unhook the coaxial antenna cable(s) — they snap off vertically like tiny press-studs.
4Transfer components if required
Some models mount the microphone, SIM reader, or vibration motor on this board. Compare old vs new side-by-side and move anything the replacement lacks.
5Fit the new board and reconnect
Seat the board, snap the antenna cables back on (they click when truly seated), reconnect ribbons, and screw down. Reconnect the battery LAST.
6Test before sealing
Before gluing the back on: power up, charge by cable (watch the % actually rise), test the mic on a call, and test the loudspeaker. Only then close and glue.

How do I know if it's the port or the battery?
A bad port = phone won't take charge by cable (but may charge wirelessly). A bad battery = charges to a % then drains instantly or dies at 30–40%. The tests in step 1 separate the two.
Is a charging flex model-specific?
Yes, strictly. The board carries model-specific connectors, mic and antenna layouts. Buy for your exact model number — check the compatibility line on our product pages.
My phone charges only when the cable is held at an angle. Same fix?
Yes — that wobble means worn port pins, and the port is replaced as part of this same board/flex. Until the repair, avoid forcing the cable; it can lift board pads.
